The best for the price.

Pros: Endured through 130 heat and desert sand of Iraq and still running strong.

Cons: At times the DVD drive did not work due to overheating.

The Bottom Line:
An excellent laptop for the price.

I am in the military and purchased my 2105us in the beginning of this year in preparation for a deployment to Iraq. I have been on previous tours overseas and for this one wanted to get something that could play mp3's, dvd's and games. A laptop was the only solution. I picked the 2105us because of the features for the price. I didn't expect a laptop to endure the life combat and the desert would bring it. So for the price I wouldnt be upset if I lost it or it was destroyed, something easily replaceable.

For starters this computer is excellent. Before I left I loaded up almost my entire CD collection on to the hard drive, well 20g's worth anyways, so I never got bored of having a limited music collection. I also loaded it up with my favorite games. Needless to say I am typing this review on it now, safely back in the United States. It went through hours of constant gaming and dvd watching in the 130 heat of Baghdad. Several others in my unit who had P4 laptops experienced their mother boards frying due to the heat. My Athlon is still strong. It is pretty scratched up and most of the paint on the plastic is faded. Battle scars if you will.

I have a power desktop that I use primarily. It is nice that this laptop survived, I added a wireless 802.11g card to it and now use it for internet as I wonder through out the house and sit outside and drink my morning coffee while reading emails and the news.

In summary, I dont know how I would of made it through Operation Iraqi Freedom had I not had this laptop for entertainment.
