I recommend this camcorder to people who want easy operation, high quality picture and sound, DVDRW, but are not looking for a USB port.

There is really only one reason not to buy this camera; it doesn't have a USB connection. However, it's the only cheap DVD camera that can record on erasable DVDs. I record everything onto one DVDRW, rip it to my hard drive, and then erase the DVD. That means I only had to buy one DVD to do all the recording I want. They come in packs of three, so I have a couple more for back-up. The picture and sound quality is amazing. It records in wide-screen or standard and the sound is recorded in Dolby digital 5.1. Honestly, it has so many features I could go on forever. But this camera is ideal for beginners. After you turn it on, push the Easy button, and then press record. After you press the Easy button once you never have to press it again. To stop recording just press the record button a second time. So basically, you turn it on and press one button. The movies you record are divided into scenes like on a DVD movie you rent. So if you press record and then stop recording that equals one scene. Each DVD can hold thirty minutes worth of scenes. When your DVD is full you just select finalaize on the touch screen LCD and the DVD is done. Just put it in your DVD player and watch it. And of course, if your DVD is erasable the camera will erase it for you and you can watch it again. It also takes pictures and can be connected to a TV to watch it DVDs that haven't been finalized yet.
