Awesome

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Flawlessly smooth smoothies. Powerful.

Cons: Possibly too smooth if you like chunky icy drinks. Loud.

The Bottom Line:
If your looking for an alternative to the expensive Margharita makers but want something that actually works well, this is a great purchase.

Ever since I saw the Margharitaville Frozen Conncoction maker in stores this summer I wanted one for our boat. My husband makes a great cabana boy on the boat and enjoys making frozen drinks for us and our friends. But I could not justify spending over $200 for what's basically a blender. I kept looking, figuring prices would go down by Christmas time and I would get him one then. It was Christmas Eve and prices hadn't budged. Other margharita or frozen drink makers got terrible reviews so I didn't purchase an alternative. I needed to get cabana boy something to go under the tree fast. I was at Target and saw this blender that seemed to specialize in smoothies. It had a cool looking pour spout and advertised the elimination of ice chunks. For only $30 I figured I couldn't go wrong - worst come to worst this would just serve as a second blender that we could keep at home.

DH was very happy come Christmas morning and a week later we tried it out making frozen strawberry daquiris on New Years Eve. It was easy to assemble and operate. When turned on, the blender is incredibly loud and powerful. But you don't need to keep it on very long. You can immediately see it grind ice in a pulsating movement - I guess that's what they call the wave action. With the blender on low speed, you can then place your glass underneath and open the pourer. Because the blender is on, it pushes the drink through the pourer surprisingly swiftly and neatly. The drinks come out perfectly - no ice chunks and flawlessly smooth.
