A Good Blender for the money!

Pros: A nice efficient working blender for the price.
Cons: All plastic and may not be as durable as ones made with metal and glass.
The Bottom Line:
Recommend for smoothies at a nice price.
I've used several different types of blenders, especially for making smoothies. I spotted the Hamilton Beach Wave Station blender on sale at Stop and Shop. I don't usually buy small appliances like this in a grocery store, but this was on sale for around I think $20.
This is a 10-speed dispensing blender, which continuously forces mixture down into the blades for smooth results every time. I always like the cup-activated feature that eliminates pouring and spills.
It has a 56 ounce double-wall thermal jar which helps to keep drinks cold.
700 Watts peak power. And a 3 year warranty.
I had another blender which I gave to my son. That one pretty much spun the contents around the walls of jar, and left large chunks untouched by the blades. The Hamilton Beach Wave action because it forces the mixture down into the blades produces a smooth mixture. I don't need a wooden spoon or stir stick.
The blades are made of stainless steel so there's no problem crushing ice. The Sure Rest jar base sits flat on the counter to prevent tipping. When I press a glass to activate the cup dispenser it stays put.
There is also a spout cap when the spout is not needed.
There is a Hi and Lo button.
Also: Pulse, stir, grind, puree, crumb, chop, grate, icebreaker, milkshake, smoothie, icy drink, and the last bottom button for dispensing.
As I said the last blender I had did leave ice chunks in the smoothie. I don't like that because it ends up making the smoothie watery. That seems to lessen the flavor as well. So far all my smoothies come out the way I like them, not chunky or watery.
For the price I can't say anything negative about this blender. I use it mostly for making my smoothies, and feel that it will serve me well for at least the three years that it is under warranty.
It is all plastic unlike some that are part plastic, metal, and glass. I find it easy to clean, light to carry, and a nice addition to my small appliance collection on my counter. I don't store it away and keep it in sight so that it's there whenever I make my smoothies.
