GOEMON'S GREAT ADVENTURE is the second game featuring Goemon to hit the Nintendo 64. This time, the characters are in 2D, though the backgrounds are 3D polygonal renders. This results in a unique view, featuring pseudo-3D gameplay, without the frustrating issues that bad camera angles can cause. The story involves the evil Bisumaru, who has taken control of a machine that summons ghosts. The four heroes, Goemon, Yae, Sasuke, and Ebisumaru must fight through many levels to stop her. Gameplay consists of mostly running and jumping to different platforms, but it also involves solving puzzles that use each character's abilities in a different way. The game features music and graphics that perfectly represent what is being conveyed, resulting in a fun experience. GOEMON'S GREAT ADVENTURE is unlike any other title on the Nintendo 64, combining elements of classic 16-bit titles with the flash and flair of other console offerings. Minimize

Goemon's Back!!

Author's Rating: Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: Funny, Easy to pick up and play.

Cons: The Theme Songs are left out.

The Bottom Line:
They left out the theme songs.... But besides that the game is very, very good.

This game is a statement to that some things should be left the way they are..... The game plays just like the original Mystical Ninja (for the Super Nintendo) except for a few 3D scenes that are blended well into the 2D environment.

This game, like Mystical Ninja 64, is funny and has a plot that could only come from a game with Goemon in it. One of the best things in this game is that it has a 2Player mode (and a 4Player mode if you have a code) so you can travel with help though the very strange world of Mystical Ninja with a friend.

The graphics are a lot more clear than Mystical Ninja 64, and it's a lot easier to play too. The 2D worlds are full of very cool 3D backgrounds and enemies.

Konami had their heads on when they made this game, instead of making another Mario 64 clone (not that Mario 64 was a bad game) they made a VERY good game. Making Goemon's Great Adventure the second side scroller for the N64 was the best thing Konami could have done for this game.

The only thing that bugs me about this game is..... They left the "Theme Song" and the "Impact Song" which where very cool (and are featured in Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon for the Nintendo 64).

Well, I hope that you like this game a much as I did. And I hope this Opinion helped you.
