Pros: Great Engine! Nice options. Exceptional value for the money.
Cons:
Brakes are weak, stereo is limited, resale is poor
The Bottom Line:
Highly recommended truck. It appears GM got it dead on the money with this vehicle. Exceptional value. A true workhorse!
I bought my GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Crew Cab after trading in my Pontiac Vibe GT (another great GM/Toyota product). I had owned a Chevy 2500 ex-DOT beater that was a warrior and I had some GM Card point rewards to use. The model I bought was just under $32K MSRP but with incentives and rebates, I left the lot paying just $24,700! This is truly a steal! I also got $3k off the price with my rewards points meaning I left the lot with a new loaded Pickup for just under $22k! Ridiculous. The model I got had 4 Wheel drive, the SLE package with steering wheel controls, DIC, Power windows, locks, mirrors and drivers seat, cruise, Tow package, and the great 5.3L Vortech Flexfuel engine. It also came with the 17" premium wheels and fog lights. I have upgraded it with Westin Side Steps, 22" Alloy Wheels (Really helps the appearance!), Line-X bed liner, Truxedo Soft Tonneau, Bed Extender and Peripheral I-Pod adaptor which allows me to charge and use my I-pod directly through the head unit and use the existing steering wheel controls!
I am in sales and drive ALOT. I have put over 80K in two years on my truck. Over that time I have gotten an average of 18-20 mpg on regular gas cruising around 75mph on the highway.
Overall this has been an exceptional vehicle. Reliable, powerful, easy to tinker with, comfortable, roomy, and super functional. It has also been inexpensive to own. With the exception of a few non-serious, under warranty issues the truck has been everything you would want it to be. At this price, I can't imagine any reason to look at Ford, Dodge or any of the imports?
