Like the guitar but not the quality

Pros: Nice, light and easy to play.
Cons: Poor quality for a Gibson.
The Bottom Line:
Nice style guitar with good versatility but poor quality for a guitar that cost $700. I would recommend to a friend with reservations.
I received this guitar as a gift, after having the guitar a while I noticed that at the bottom of one of the "F" holes there are machine marks that can be seen as serrations through the black finish. As remarked by an earlier reviewer the tip falls off of the selector switch and I have found that the tone knob comes off and pulling the tone switch out is how you disable the varitone. I like the variety of tones you can get from this guitar. I am not an expert guitar player but it is easy and fun to play. It is a nice light guitar and putting a friends Les Paul in my lap was quite a shock after playing this guitar. The frets are deep so you can bend the note slightly just by fretting it a little harder. For the $700 I would have expected a guitar with a little better attention to the cosmetic details. I also own a Dan Electro 1956 U2 re-issue, a Yamaha FG04 LTD, a Fender Squire Precision Bass and a Vester Maniac. If something happened to this guitar I would look at buying another but check the quality of it carefully before purchasing.
