Just... Wow!

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Small size takes up little deck space. Fastest clean-up I've ever experienced in a grill.

Cons: None that we noticed.

The Bottom Line:
IFÂ… You are a casual griller who's looking for an easier way to get there at a reasonable price, this is a must-have!

Author's Review
This is possibly one of the most unique grills we’ve ever purchased. Now, neither my husband nor I are grill fanatics... We just love to eat, and to be able to sit on the deck and crack open a cold one while we’re cooking sounds like a pretty good deal to both of us. We’ve had, in the past, electric grills, gas grills, charcoal grills, hibachis—you name it, we’ve had it. A major problem we’ve both had is cleaning the grill. Neither of us wanted to do it. We were also nervous about leaving a grill unattended until it was cool to the touch—hours, in many cases if my husband was in one of his “More Power! More Fire” moods. The Foreman “Big George” Grill is the perfect answer for us. Our favorite aspects?

• It takes up a remarkably small amount of valuable deck space.
• The cooking surface is easily removed so you can bring it inside to wash it thoroughly.
• Just in case it starts to rain, this can also be used indoors by simply lifting the base off the pedestal.
• It had a grease tray, so you needn’t worry about it getting your deck all nasty.
• Because it cleans so well (and so easily), you can pop it into your trunk and cart it off anywhere there’s electricity. (Wow—This would be excellent for anyone with an RV...)
• It gets really hot! Great for blackening chicken and fish.
• Very attractive design. It looks like a grown-up grill!
• Big enough to cook for the family-- 17 inches diameter, with 240 inches of cooking surface!

Assembly took about 5 minutes and no tools whatsoever. And it’s super-easy to unassemble for travel or end of season storage.

One problem I had was finding the darn thing; everywhere I looked, the places that had it listed it as “On Backorder” or “No Longer Available.” Even the eSalton website had it on backorder! (Also beware of many places who don’t tell you it’s backordered until you ask where the tracking information is...) We finally found ours at AceHardwareOutlet.com on the net, for $69.99 with free shipping. It arrived 5 days after I placed our order. It normally retails for $119.00

This obviously isn’t a grill for someone who enters national cook-offs... It’s just a really great grill for people like us for whom grilling is just one more thing on a long, long list of things we don’t take terribly seriously. It’s easy, fun, and very affordable.
