Sharing its basic design with the Toyota Corolla, as it had in the prior generation, the roundly restyled front-drive subcompact sedan from Chevrolets Geo import group is a little longer than its predecessor. Modest appearance and trim changes marked the 95 Prizms. As with the exterior, the interior of the Prizm is an exercise in usefulness rather than stylishness. Even on a heavily loaded LSi, the instrument panel is simple and plain, consisting of a large oil temperature gauge, speedometer and fuel gauge, plus warning lights.

1995 Geo Prizm
I purchased my Geo from Enterprise Rent a Car in 1996 w/ 30K on the odometer. Dual air bags are standard. The controls are very straightforward. The base model does not have power door locks or windows and the steering wheel does not tilt. These things are included with the LSi model. The only major repairs have been a new starter and a new alternator. I have done the basics such as new spark plugs, new timing belt etc., to keep the car running smoothly. I have found that air filters are expensive, around $13-$15. With 125K currently, I have no complaints, the AC is still cold, the wheels are still aligned, no problems with rust on the body at all. There are a lot of Prizms on the road, so spare parts are readily available from user car/salvage lots should something need to be replaced. Very good car!
Update February 2, 2006: I gave the 1995 Prizm to my sister. It is still going strong and now has 165,000 miles. I bought another Prizm, a 2001 with 24k!
