Pros: relatively inexpensive, good overall camera, light, capable
Cons: difficult to shoot sports, doesn't work well in low light conditions.
The Bottom Line:
I am a free lance photographer and love to travel with this camera. It takes exceptional photographs.
This isnt your typical review in that I am actually a free-lance photographer. That being said, many people are shocked to hear that I have actually used this camera as part of my job.
While I do have a DSLR and use that on many occasions there are times when I am restricted in carrying all that equipment that goes with it and the heaviness of the bag is difficult to travel with. Therefore, I needed a good compact camera that could do everything for me. I tried several cameras and brands until I settled on the Fuji S602.
I absolutely love this camera. It allows me to shoot manually and also allows me to be as creative as I need to be. I have found the lens to provide a good range for me as well. There are few times when I need a longer length and when I do I have another lens that I simply screw on to the adapter and I am ready within seconds and it doesnt add on much additional weight.
I have found this camera to be acceptable enough for me to use to publish images and use for images in galleries. I have had pictures from this camera published in newspapers and as full color front cover glossies in magazines and journals. I have even enlarged photos from this camera and sold them in art galleries.
I consider this my go to camera as it doesnt just about everything well. The only thing that I cant really use it for is sports or action--but it doesnt stop me from trying
