The Bottom Line:
If you want absolutely the best pictures at a relatively affordable price, get the Fuji FinePix S2 Pro digital camera.
This is a great camera for amateurs and professionals alike. It takes absolutely beautiful photos and uses all of the Nikon lenses you may already have. The user controls are amazingly simple to master and the RAW conversion software comes with the camera instead of having to be purchased seperately for $100 or more as other cameras in this class require. Another great feature (at least I think it's a good one) is the fact that the S2 uses standard AA batteries as its main power source. NiMH AA batteries are cheap, so you can have plenty of spares on hand. It also uses two CR123A lithium batteries, but they last for roughly 1000 pictures, and spares won't discharge very quickly, so you can safely keep a spare set of them with your camera also.
