Universally known for great color and performance, Fuji has also made a name for itself in the digicam arena by offering consumers digicams of consistently good quality at very affordable prices. Maintaining a good balance between quality and portability, Fuji's FinePix digicam line is populated with compact, travel-worthy digicams that take great pictures. The new A200, positioned at the entry level point-and-shoot end of the FinePix line, features a 2.0-megapixel CCD and a pared-down user interface perfect for novices. Although the A200 has only a fixed-focal-length lens and less image control than many of the FinePix digicams, its point-and-shoot simplicity will appeal to a wide audience of consumers, especially at its very low retail price.

Fine Pix A200 is Fine with me!

Pros: Ease of use, light weight, movie mode, 2 mega pixel capability, runs on 2 AA's
Cons: Fixed lens/no optical zoom, no sound capability, flash off only in manual
The Bottom Line:
Decent for price. Some nice features found normally on higher priced units. Good looking. Easy to use controls. Uses XD proprietary memory cards, but easy to find and priced competitively.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the A200, for the price. Supplied software and USB cable is easy to install and use.
Ability to switch easily between low, medium and high res images and video mode is nice. LCD brightness is adjustable and is fine in all except extreme sunlight conditions. Video mode is a little choppy, but OK for short clips.
Menu's are easy to access and relatively intuitive to use. Flash can only be shut off when camera is switched to manual mode which is a bit of a pain.
Initial operation out of the box is very easy and fairly good quality shots in automatic mode in most circumstances.
Sound capability would be nice, but given the price I think this camera has many features only found on more expensive competition. Some distortion from fixed lens at edges of frame on large landscape shots.
