Great first digital camera

Author's Rating: Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: EASY to use, great picture quality, EASY to use software included.

Cons: Battery direction markings hard to read

The Bottom Line:
If you are confused by all the choices and are not an expert, don't drive yourself nuts, you will be quite happy with the Fuji 3800.

I'll keep this short and simple. This is my first digital camera. I wanted quality and ease of use. After doing limited research, mostly from talking to sales (kids) at the electronic superstores I bought the Fuji 3800. This is a 3.2 mega pixel digital camera with 6x optical zoom, digital video with voice caption (records up to 30 seconds of sound), built in flash and a 1.8" LCD monitor as well as an electronic viewfinder. There are many more features on this camera, but I'm trying to keep this review simple, and the most important aspect for me is that you select the AUTO mode and everything works, perfectly. I had 30 days to play and either keep it or return it, I'm keeping it. Bottom line, I took the camera out of the box, loaded the batteries (trying to see how the batteries go in, even with my glasses on is the only complaint so far), then point and shoot. To my delight, perfect pictures. Did not even read the manual at this point. The software included allowed me to view and transfer the pictures to my PC flawlessly and brainlessly. I am not completely computer illiterate, but the ease of use of this camera is a strong point. I have no experience with any other digital camera, so I do not know what I'm missing if anything. Therefore I'm happy!
