The 2005 Ford Five Hundred is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, available in 6 trims, ranging from the SE FWD to the Limited AWD. Upon introduction, the SE FWD is equipped with a standard 3.0-liter, V6, 203-horsepower engine that achieves 21-mpg in the city and 29-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard, and a variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The Limited AWD is equipped with a standard 3.0-liter, V6, 203-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. Pros: Comfort, handling and highway ride, interior and trunk space.

I rented the five hundred and drove it across country. I must say, as an owner of two luxury imports (BMW and Lexus) this car was very impressive. It had extremely comfortable and supportive seats - tons of leg and head room and a backseat that would make Paris Hilton happy! The handling and highway ride was very similar to my 5 series BMW. I really like this car. If you are considering buying one I think it would be a wise decision. I left American cars because of their reliability records - I hope this Ford is the start of things to come!
