Fords F-150 has been substantially redesigned for 2004. All new exterior styling is accompanied by model line-up, package, and powertrain changes, as well. The 4WD Regular Cabs are available in XL, STX, XLT, and FX4 trims. The standard engine has been upgraded from a 4.2L V-6 to a 4.6L V-8 (with an optional 5.4L engine available). All engines are coupled with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The new F-150 also gets larger standard wheels and tires, all-new interior appointments, and new exterior and interior color combinations. For better payload and towing performance, a heavy duty payload package is available that increases the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating to 8200 lbs.

Pros: Very comfortable and roomy; handles extremely well; looks great; substantial when traveling
Cons: Can't think of any except tight parking spots don't accomodate me for the suicide doors.

You can't find a better truck than this one!
My Ford F150 4x4 is wonderful! I have owned it now for four years and have never had any major problems with it. It is very roomy and comfortable, smooth riding and when you need to stop quickly, it does so on a dime! That was the real test when we were test driving vehicles, and also what sold us on this truck! It didn't slide or veer different directions when coming to an abrupt halt at a fast speed.
I am a short, small female (5'2" and 110 pounds) and this truck is really easy for me to handle. I am spoiled to it now and will probably never want to drive anything smaller than this! I love the color we chose (light silver) as it does not show dirt and still looks like new.
All in all, this truck is very very nice and the only drawback I have had with it is the suicide doors when trying to load shopping bags into it. I have learned to park next to the shopping cart space or an end space so I can open the doors to load up after shopping.
The 4x4 is required for us to be able to drive it on the beach here with a special permit from our county offices. It is had to find a parking space to go to the beach, and now we can buy the permit and drive right up to the water's edge. Ahhhhhhhhh! SO convenient without having to haul by hand everything you need for a day at the beach. Plus, if you get too hot in the sun, you can sit in the air conditioning!
