Fords F-150 has been substantially redesigned for 2004. All new exterior styling is accompanied by model line-up, package, and powertrain changes, as well. The 4WD Regular Cabs are available in XL, STX, XLT, and FX4 trims. The standard engine has been upgraded from a 4.2L V-6 to a 4.6L V-8 (with an optional 5.4L engine available). All engines are coupled with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The new F-150 also gets larger standard wheels and tires, all-new interior appointments, and new exterior and interior color combinations. For better payload and towing performance, a heavy duty payload package is available that increases the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating to 8200 lbs.

F150 Crew Cab XLT 4x2
| Author's Rating: |

Pros: Smooth ride Good pick up on the highway At over 70k miles with no issues
Cons: Wish I had bought one earlier.
The Bottom Line:
I miss my Jeep in the summer but wish I had traided up to this truck years ago. Love all the space
This is my first Ford truck. I had to stepped up from a Jeep Wrangler. Loved the Jeep but just could not fit everything in it anymore. We bought used 04 XLT Crew Cab with 4x2 due to an expanding family and the need for more space. Love the new body style. Bought the new body style over older due to crash test rating.
Expanding family required a larger vehicle. Can fit 6 adults for short trips and 4/5 for long trips. However our dog claimed the back seat so good luck sharing with him. Great ride on the highway. With 4x2 gets 19 mpg. Tons of cargo space in the 5 foot bed. The wife likes the side steps. Wife also loves the 4 doors for getting the dog and future little ones in and out of the back seat.
Originally bought the truck to make HD runs, camping trips and to tow a popup. However the truck rides so good we take it over our Saturn Vue when we make trips up the east cost over 500 miles each way a couple a times a year.
Only real complaint is that most parking spaces are not big enough and I end up sticking out
