A hit in Europe, where it was designed, Ford expected Focus to replace the Escort as its high-volume small car. The same Focus design will be used worldwide. Focus comes in three body styles — four-door sedan, two-door hatchback and station wagon — wrapped in edgy styling that gives these new models a unique appearance.

Pros: Sound System. Engine Performance. Roominess
Cons: None Noticed.
The Bottom Line:
Stay away from the tires.
I recently purchased the 2000 Ford Focus. I am very impressed with the 16-valve 2.0 litre engine. The engine provides lots of power. There is plenty of room in the front and rear seats. My baby car seat fits comfortably in the rear seat. The console is attractively designed and has an original look. The LED display on the radio gives the time and station simultaneously. The manufacturer's CD and stereo system operate smoothly and provide decent sound. The car gets excellent gas mileage and performs well on the highway. It is convenient being able to access the trunk from the interior of the car. The windows and mirrors provide good 360 degree visibility. For first time car buyers, this is THE one. The price is reasonable for what you get. The car is inexpensive but has a luxury feel.
When you buy this car you need to focus on the tire warranty. This seems to be the weakest point of this car. When you go and try to use the warranty they give you nothing but the run a round. My daughter had a flat tire at work, she called the motor club they changed the tire but that's all they did. They left us hanging. So we went back to the dealer where they told us to go to the tire dealer. But they would not replace it. So we called the corporate headquarters of Goodyear. They told that in the papers it said that if the car had less than 2000 miles it would be replaced for free. So we went back to the tire dealer. They still would not replace it. We had to physically show that it was a defect. So we put a nail through it and slashed it to prove it. that's when they started to listen to us. We still had to kick and scream a little but it worked. So we got a new tire. We should not have had to go through much trouble. The moral is to stay persistant and you will get what you want.
