Upgrades for 1999 include features such as speed-sensitive volume, Automatic Climate control (Eddie Bauer), adjustable foot pedals and increased horsepower for both Triton engines. Standard equipment on all models includes power windows and door locks, a passive anti-theft system and cargo area tie down hooks. Options for the XLT include the Triton 5.4-liter V8 engine, a leather interior, outside-heated mirrors and a limited slip rear axle. The 4WD models offer a four-corner load leveling suspension and the Control Trac system which allows automatic four wheel drive function when required without the drivers assistance.
