The PS80 shredder from Fellowes is ideal for your home or small office. It can handle up to six sheets of standard bond paper and, at 9.5 inches, has a wider entry than most shredders. Plus, the steel blades of the PS80's cutting mechanism can handle staples and paper clips, and a handy waste bin is included for easy removal. Minimize

just rcvd this - I'm impressed

Pros: plenty of power, nice colors, no need to remove heavy head to empty

Cons: none yet.

The Bottom Line:
Pricey for a family; perfect for a SOHO, anyone wanting a powerful machine, or someone cleaning up years of paperwork.

I just rcvd this unit to replace an FS60CC that ate up another plastic gear (2nd time-every gear but 1 is steel).
This one has a much lower pitched sound and sounds like it could chew thru a 1/4 inch board. With 10 sheets I could barely tell it was laboring (thanks to a 6 Amp motor). No need to open junk mail now. The 60CC would work up a sweat with just 3 sheets. I haven't tried credit cards or cds yet. I can barely hear the staples hit the teeth. I just hope there are no plastic gears in this one.

The rev/off/on switch will run this in fwd for a little bit when switched from off to on. This is necessary to remove jams. The 60CC did not do that and I had to fake the sensor out to move it fwd. The shredders still get clogged after 5-6 passes of 8-10 sheets and you can hear that when it stops. (That sound on the 60 meant trouble so I don't ignore it now). Rocking the switch back and forth a couple of time cleans it out.

The silver/gray color is nice to, but I think all the -2s are this way. Cleaning doesn't require removing the heavy head - just take out the separate bin.

I'll write a long term report later, but I would definitely recommend this one over the 60CC (don't know if the 60C-2 got rid of that plastic, but it is still underpowered).
