Fry's loves to lure the techo addicts in daily with their multipage ads here in Calif. So this cam was less than fifteen ducats with the rebate. Yes, Virginia there are rebates, and they do come, but it takes months. The camera itself is fair in performance. It's light hungry, more light equals a better picture. The Logitek Quickcam is a much better performer albeit a few dollars extra. These cams and their cousins are so cheap I buy them for a few nights of tinkering (cheap dates) and then I give them away.

It worked as advertised but the picture quality was poorer than the Quickcam. One piece of software that was unique was the game cam which allows the kids to kung fu the cam and score, much to their delight. It was worth the fifteen washingtons for that, but not much more. There are better usb web cams out there for the less than fifty dollar market.
