The five megapixel EX-Z57 sports a 3x optical zoom lens and an oversized 2.7-inch LCD screen, the largest Casio has ever stuck on the back of a digital camera. They had to ditch the optical viewfinder to make room for that larger LCD, but they claim that despite the extra two-tenths of an inch, the battery life on the EX-Z57 is just as good as that of the EX-Z55.

Pros: Everything, size, picture results, features, battery.
Cons: Haven't found anything in a year and a half
The Bottom Line:
It's a great camera for beginners and professional digital camera users.
I absolutely LOVE this camera
This is my 2nd digital camera, my first was a Fuji, this I believe will be my last, and if it breaks (boo-hoo) I will buy another Casio.
What a wonder. I got this camera, through the Home Shopping Channel, 1 1/2 years ago so that was end of 2004. It is really amazing. Small, compact, slim, Pretty on the eyes. It has so many features. And a really , really big LCD screen. ( I don't know the measurements but trust me, it's bigger than your current camera).
THE FEATURES
There's an on/off switch at the top of the camera, next to the picture button. But there are also two other buttons, next to the screen, one is for Picture taking, the other to Review the pictures already taken. Either one of those will turn on the camera. THERE ARE NO DIALS TO TURN. Everything is controlled by buttons.
Ok you turn on the camera and press the "SET" button and you get a menu of what kind of pictures you want to take..
Portrait, Scenery, Portrait with scenery, Coupling shot (my favorite feature will explain later on), Pre shot, children, candlelight, party, pet, flower, Natural green, Sundown, Night scene, Night scene with portrait, fireworks, food, text, collection, monochrome, Retro, twilight, Business cards and documents, White board, 2 that you set for your favorite. You pick what kind of picture you want to take and shoot. It's incredible.
the coupling shot the reason it sold me on tv. Let's say you and your husband are on vacation alone, and no one to shoot a picture of the two of you together. NO problem, you press that selection, Snap a picture of your husband/wife, then they take the camera, stand next to the spot where your husband/wife was standing shoot the picture and TAADDAA you have ONE picture of the TWO of you. It's really hard to describe in writing, but it's a great feature.
the battery
Another reason to buy this camera, it has a built in battery. You charge the camera not the batteries, you don't spend hundreds of dollars on AA batteries. I have taken up to 400 pictures on one charge, it's really amazing.
Menu
You have Snapshot, movie, bestshot, picture with sound, and voice recordings.
A self timer,
Sizes of pictures range from.. 640 x 480 to 2560 X 1920.
Quality... fine, normal, economy
Ev shift, white balance, ISO, AF area, Auto PF, Sharpness, saturation, contrast, and about 20 other controls I never use. But they are there for you professionals out there.
You can set the time and date.
On the review...
You can scroll through the pictures as fast as you do on your computer, Its amazing, there's no waiting for the next picture. YOu can crop your pictures in the review, zoom and save another picture.
5.0 megapixels. I have printed out a poster picture of my girls, It's 20 inches by 16 inches and it's very clear, very neat, it really looks professionally done.
It did not come with a case. Or a memory card. the camera saves up to 8 pictures without a card. It does come with a cradle dock where you can charge it, also hook it up to the computer. The videos are clear, looks like you were using a video camera.
It fits in your pocket. (without a case).
Great camera. Definetly buy it if you are in the market for a digital camera you won't be sorry.
