The five megapixel EX-Z57 sports a 3x optical zoom lens and an oversized 2.7-inch LCD screen, the largest Casio has ever stuck on the back of a digital camera. They had to ditch the optical viewfinder to make room for that larger LCD, but they claim that despite the extra two-tenths of an inch, the battery life on the EX-Z57 is just as good as that of the EX-Z55.

Pros: small, easy to use camera with high enough resolution for excellent everyday use.
Cons: Not as slim as some of the newer ones.
The Bottom Line:
This compact, sleek design is easy to use and holds charge for 400 shots.
3x zoom, macro focus, 5 mega pixel resolution and large LCD screen are just right.
Casio Exilim EX-Z57 Digital Camera
Fast, small, powerful/ This compact but light weight aluminum camera gives you 5 megapixel resolution which captures enough detail for beautiful 11x14s. Thats perfectly acceptable resolution. How many posters do you really need?
The optical 3x zoom lens and macro focus for close ups are great features. The screen menu is really easy to figure out, even for the technically challenged like me. This camera probably does all kinds of things I will never use but they dont get in the way of me taking great everyday pics. Instead of a bunch of confusing icons, the camera adds text like flash on, flash off. This is digital instruction I understand!
The slim body and sleek silver design is attractive and practical.
Best of all the 2.7 LCD (liquid crystal display) is nice and big. Its hard to see in bright light, but that is pretty typical of most cameras.
The "Super life battery" is powerful enough that I only have to recharge after about 400 shots. Then put back in the cradle for a recharge and youre ready to go.
The USB cord that comes with it plugs right into my mac and loads the photos.
Couldnt be easier.
