The five megapixel EX-Z57 sports a 3x optical zoom lens and an oversized 2.7-inch LCD screen, the largest Casio has ever stuck on the back of a digital camera. They had to ditch the optical viewfinder to make room for that larger LCD, but they claim that despite the extra two-tenths of an inch, the battery life on the EX-Z57 is just as good as that of the EX-Z55.

Pros: Huge LCD, many scenes, good usability, fast, quick response time, powerful battery, great landscape shots.
Cons: Portrait shots are average, LCD resolution is too low for a 2.7 screen.
After many many research on the web for a compact 5M pixels with a large LCD screen, I finally chose the Casio Z57 (versus Canon Ixus/Elph, Nikon Coolpix S1 and some Sony's). It's definitely a great and powerful pocket-size camera. Personal case: the camera has 1 dead pixel in the LCD screen. :-( But, globally, consider the Z57 as a recommended camera! Enjoy!
