Good card for the money, good graphics.
With so many new graphics cards on the market, and so many series to choose from, how does one decide what is best for them??? Most people use add on cards and shun the onboard mother board graphics are serious gamers.
This days series are the 9800's, but don't listen to those people that say this card is yesterday's news. The 9800 will be yesterday's news in 2009. You don't have to buy a new card every single year! All companies bloat marketing to boost 9800 sales so be careful of the hype. Do your own research. Don't feed the Nvidia marketing hype. The 7800GTX is still very good and plays many games at this point, new and old alike. Unless you need to brag about benchmark test results and spend hundreds, this is a good card for me. The original price was 3 times the current price less than 12 months ago. Par for course on PC purchases. The only complaint i have is that this card runs a little got, but sufficient case airflow will solve this.
Thee are dozens of companies making graphics cards out there. I have owned 6 different EVGA cards over the years, and the have all been great cards that were covered under the lifetime warranty. All you have to do is register your card online. I once needed to RMA a 6600GT due to a VIA chipset problem on my motherboard. I also did an improvement on it. The 7800 GTX fan died and EVGA replaced it with a 7800GS KO ACS. They were very helpful, and gave me all the help i needed.
