#1, best cleaning Stick Vac that picks up the most dirt. Laboratory tests have proven that the Shark Transformer Vac has more suction power than any competing bagless stick vac. Bagless Cyclonic Action removes ground-in dirt and pet hair. Convenient mess-free bottom emptying dust container. No more bags to replace! Larger, 11" cleaning path. 1 1/2 times the suction of a typical full-size vacuum. Telescopic tube and floor attachment are removable at the press of a button, converting the Transformer Vac into a hand-held vacuum with shoulder strap - making this vacuum a 2-in-1. Great for use on carpets and bare floors with tools conveniently stored on-board.\n\n \n

Euro Pro EP602 Shark Transformer Vac for everything

Pros: Convenient and easy to use, lightweight, effective cleaning.
Cons: The filter strategy requires some decisions on your part.
The Bottom Line:
A good, inexpensive, durable little sucker, but check the filter situation and decide if it's for you or not.
This EP602 was apparently repackaged as the Shark Transformer Vac. It is a bagless 'stick' vacuum that utilizes a true HEPA clean air design.
I have a terrific vacuum for my rugs, but when we took up some old carpet and put down hardwood floors, I needed something quicker, lighter, and much more effective. I had a Shark portable vacuum that I like a lot, but found it was awkward for me to have it slung over one shoulder and try to clean (it kept sliding forward and in my way, or off my shoulder). Since I like that one, I found the stick vac for the hard floors.
Yep, this baby does an efficient job of cleaning hard surfaces. It's not too heavy, so it can be hauled around by the handle when you drop the telescoping handle. The hose will unplug for spot cleaning, and some of these have a 'bonus' turbo-brush packaged with them which works pretty good on upholstery, etc. The feel is lightweight, but sturdy.
Now for the other side of the coin. The filters work very well. The bagless feature captures debris in a cup, which dumps pretty well. Then you have to remove the filters to clean them. There is a 'debris screen' which is best cleaned off with a soft toothbrush. Secondary is a 'non-woven pre-filter', which has to be washed out and allowed to dry for 24 hours before putting it back in. Then there is the HEPA filter, which is 'tap clean' (whack flat on a hard clean surface to knock the dirt out), and then about once a month should be washed and allowed to dry for 24 hours before putting it back in.
So they have a 'filter plan', whereby you sign up and they automatically send you a FREE filter every six months - for life - and only charge your credit card $5.95 shipping and handling each time. Hmmmm...
Does it work well? Yes. Is it worth the filter games? That's a personal decision.
