There are better glosses....

Author's Review
Recently while shopping for a gift at an Estee Lauder counter at the mall I received a free sample of one of their lipglosses, I was pleasantly surprised by this since it wasn’t bonus time when I was making my purchase. I wish this would happen all the time.

The sample I received was the Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss. This gloss originally comes in a gorgeous heavy look tube with golden accents. It features a slanted sponge tipped applicator. Unfortunately since I received a sample my gloss came in a boring squeeze tube. I’m not sure what the full size of the gloss is, but I’m guessing it’s around half an ounce. My sample holds 0.27 ounces. The applicator on my tube is slanted with a little hole through which the gloss comes out of.

This gloss is currently available in twelve shades. They are: Almond, Burgundy, Clear, Cranberry, Fresh Berry, Nude Rose, Orchid, Pink Glaze, Quartz, Rhubarb, Rosebud and Tearose.

The shade I received is Pink Sugar, which is no longer available. This is a nude/ pink shade; it is very sheer with soft shimmer.

This gloss is fairly thick and applies on so smoothly and easily. I’m actually not very impressed by this particular color because it seems to wash me out. But it does come in handy for those times when I’ve applied a lip color that’s too dark.

I’m also not impressed by the shine of this gloss. It is probably the least shiny gloss I’ve ever used that goes by the name gloss. The shine isn’t really glossy, it’s kind of shiny because of the shimmer, not because of its “moist” texture. It’s actually very strange.

I don’t love or hate this gloss. It’s just nothing very special. It has a very mild sweet scent, but nothing obnoxious or very strong.

The color lasts longer then the barely there shine. Altogether about half an hour. Once gone my lips don’t feel so smooth, they don’t feel dry. They feel a little thirsty, like they’re beginning to get dry.

Maybe I just got an old sample.

I do not have the ingredients list for this gloss.

The Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss is an average gloss in a very pretty tube. It is not very shiney, but it is smooth and pretty. The color payoff is pretty good for such a light color. I hope you get a better color then I did.

The Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss is available at Estee Lauder counters and Esteelauder.com The price is $18.00.

What www.esteelauder.com says: “Tempt your lips with color and shine like never before. Pure Color Gloss is absolute luxury. Goes on creamy smooth. Indulges you in hydrating brilliance. Do something wonderful for your lips.”
