Author's Review
I bought this scanner refurbished 3 years ago, and it's still going strong. I have used this scanner for negatives, positives, and standard reflective media, and this scanner does well with whatever media you throw at it. The front buttons work in the Mac OS, unlike some other scanners I have seen. This scanner is fairly easy to use, especially when using the "Full Auto Mode", but I personally use the "Professional Mode" to give myself more control of the scan. There is also a home mode which is simpler than Pro, but allows much more control than Full Auto. The only thing I don't like about this unit is that it is fairly noisy while operating, but that honestly is just a minor gripe. The price for this scanner was fairly good at $100. It'll allow the scanning of up to 12 frames of negatives, or 4 slides. While this is very convenient, the scanner scans one frame, returns to the resting position, and then scans the next frame. This doesn't make sense to me. I believe that it would be easier and faster to scan the entire bed first, then separate the pictures, but that's not how this scanner operates.
