 El Triunfador No. 2 cigars are another great cigar in the Tatuaje family line of cigars. Another Nicaraguan puro made in the traditional Cuban style that Pete Johnson loves so much, these cigars are rolled at Jaime Garcia's My Father Factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. Though these are generally described as a box-pressed cigar they are definitely a Cuban style bench pressed cigar.  The light brown Ecuadoran Habano wrapper holds together a loose, spongy bunch of Nicaraguan filler with a Nicaraguan binder. The smell off the wrapper is a sweetness I can't place, yummy tobacco, and a slight hint of hay. Pre-light draw was that of sweet tobacco with a touch of spice. The 1st third burns quickly and is a mild flavored and bodied cigar. The taste is very similar to the pre-light draw with some wood flavors coming into play. The spice has picked up some and has a red pepper flavor that coats the mouth well. The 2nd third still has this stick burning quickly but it is more of a peppery stick now with a heavy hand of wood flavors. I'd still call this a mild cigar though now it's moving a bit towards the medium range. The final third sees the wood and sweet tobacco flavors tapering down and really allowing the spice to shine through.  If you're looking for a mild-medium bodied yet peppery cigar the El Triunfador is just the stick for you. They are a bit on the expensive side but the quality and consistency of the smoke are definitely worth the extra $1 or $2. El Triunfador in Spanish means “the winner” or “triumphant” and that is exactly what he is here with this cigar. Minimize

Its all about the blend: the Emerald is composed of a deep, dense mixture of Nicaraguan long-fillers including a core of rich, searing Ligero tobaccos. These tobaccos are in turn cloaked by a tawny, lustrous Honduran-grown Corojo wrapper and together, after 6 months of box-aging, this formulation delivers a copious dose of rich, oaky flavors which swathes the palate before finishing with a feisty touch of spice. Medium to full-bodied throughout with a rich tobacco taste, it smokes gracefully smooth from start to finish. El Mejor Emerald is terrific right out of the box without a doubt, but also shows all the signs of incredible aging potential. Individually draped in cedar sleeves and finished with a ?shaggy foot in true ?old world fashion.
