Eco-Creatures turns traditional real-time strategy gameplay on its ear a bit by focusing not on clashes between well-armed nations or tribes, but on the conflict between small woodland animals and the destructive forces of deforestation, industrial pollution, and global warming. Gamers head to the Mana Woods, a once dense forest at the foot of majestic Mana Mountain, where animals, spirits, and wizards coexisted peacefully. But the expansive industrialization of a neighboring kingdom has devastated the delicate ecosystem of the Mana Woods, and only a solitary wizard and three types of creature remain to rebuild the dying forest.

Each of the three animal types has special powers: Ecolis can grow trees to help with reforestation, Ecoby can swim and build bridges, and Ecomon have the ability to move objects and fly.

The small creatures evolve and learn new abilities as players guide them through more than 40 environmental missions in the single-player mode, and gamers can use the touch screen to maneuver large groups of animals and help defend the forest from enemies. Two to four people can play together though local connections or game sharing, and two players can hook up using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to play and check their online rankings. The Land Make mode lets ambitious gamers design their own custom levels and then share the new maps with friends. Minimize
