Making each life Grand one Van at a time

Pros: Price, handling, roomy, comfortable.
Cons: Gas mileage can always be improved.
The Bottom Line:
Economical minivan with gentle ride and comfortable seating.
After finding out about the addition of our third baby, and looking at our worn down 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass, we decided that the time had finally come to upgrade a get a new vehicle. A minivan was chosen over SUV's for several reasons. The first of those reasons was the price, gas mileage, and third the ability to reach the baby while in the driver's seat or passenger seat. For 6 months, we researched and test-drove minivans. After narrowing the possibilities, we finally decided on the Dodge Grand Caravan.
Many factors came into our decision including:
1. Comfortable seating
2. Gas mileage
3. The ride
4. Price
5. Consumer Reports
Driving the Dodge Grand Caravan provided a gentle ride with easy steering. Going from a car to a minivan was no problem. The Dodge Grand Caravan handled wonderful: turns were graceful, bumps in the roads were not noticed, and acceleration was smooth with very little notice of gears shifting.
The back has ample room to pack the luggage in for a trip, or just to take home the weeks worth of groceries. Our double stroller fits easily in the back with room for more baby equipment if needed.
The Dodge Grand Caravan SE seats 7 passengers with front bucket seats, center 2-person bench and 3-person bench in the back. The Dodge Grand Caravan SE does not have stow n go like the SXT, but seats are easy to remove. Back seat can be turned around to sit in for tailgate seating. Our center bench has two built in car seats that have proven to be useful from day one. All seats are cloth covered.
It has a 3.3-liter V6 engine. The power is good and engine does not feel like it lags at all. Dual air is available in the front for different temperatures for driver and passenger, a big deal for my husband and me. Rear air in the back makes the ride comfortable for the back passengers. Other useful information includes dual sliding doors, front wheel drive, and luggage rack on the roof.
Our overall experience with the 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan has been great. We couldn't be more thrilled with our purchase
