The 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan is a 4-door, 7-passenger mini van, available in 3 trims, ranging from the SE to the SXT. Upon introduction, the SE is equipped with a standard 3.3-liter, V6, 180-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. The SXT is equipped with a standard 3.8-liter, V6, 215-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims. The 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan is redesigned for 2005.

BUY THIS if you are looking for a mini van
I bought my van brand new in June 2005. I took out a 39 month lease figuring i wouldnt love my van as much as i do. i got the sxt with power sliding doors, a nav system, fold flat seats! I have tow kids 3 and 9 months. this car has fit my family perfect. It rides like couch on wheels.
It is the grand caraven and it can fit a 4x8 shee of sheet rook/ plywood in the back when all the seats are folded in. which is good because my husband and I are weekend warriors!
I work in realestate and the nav system is a gift from the heavens! i can get anywhere with out issue. Even though I hate the voice of the creepy computer generated "human" voice commmands.
As for cons. I have the 3.8L and it doesnt get great gas mileage. 17 in the city (where i reside) and 21 on the highway. should be an SUV with those numbers but no SUV would drive this good. I also had a defroster issue. when i put the cars front defro on it smelled musty. but the service department took care of it.
over all i love this van and will definately be chekcing out the new town and country in october for my new lease
