Pros: Everything works as advertised.
Cons: None
The Bottom Line:
Take the plunge.........
The Dell Axim X30 624 Mhz is my first PDA so I didn't have a personal basis to compare it to others, so I went with what my investigating revealed. What it revealed was this was a lot of cutting edge technology at a bargain basement sale price of $308 delivered with a cradle and case included.
My schedules were getting very hectic for me and I realized trying to remember everything was becoming a real problem. Now I just shunt that chore of remembering appointments to the Dell Axim and it is working out great.....
The feature rich Dell Axim X30 624 takes some getting used to for people that are not familiar with Pocket PC PDA's. I did discover a fine web site at www.aximsite.com that has a forum where people in the know about these Dell Axims frequent and they were very willing to help with my questions. Time spent browsing this web site would be time well spent if you are new to Pocket PC's or contemplating buying one.
The bottom line is that I'm pleasantly thrilled with this purchase and have not regretted my Dell Axim X30 624 choice. I have added a wireless router/access point to my home PC and now am able to log onto the internet from any location in or around my house with the Axim. Because I wasn't well grounded with WiFi wireless router lingo I ran into problems setting the router and Axim up but eventually got everything worked out. I bought a 256 Meg SD memory card for the Axim which extended my storage capabilities. It made it possible to load (50) MP3 songs to it and still have 40 Megs left on the storage card for other stuff. Also I downloaded a great free software program to play MP3 songs called GS Player and the sound quality through good earbuds is awesome which was a very nice surprise! Buying a good quality screen protector in advance would be a good move and install it the day your Axim is delivered. To use the Axim and keep it charged while being used in the car I bought a charging cable and car plug on ebay for about $15 and it works well. It only takes about an hour to go from a 10% battery charge to a 95% charge. So, if you've been sitting on the fence about this Axim X30 624 Mhz Pocket PC then I guess I just might have given you a little shove!
