This was the first major baby item that we purchased when we found out I was pregnant. We went to a local baby boutique and checked out all the baby beds they had, and we loved this one from the moment we saw it. From that point forward, it was our comparison point. In the end, the other cribs just did not compare to this one. It was exactly what were were seeking. We preferred the cherry finish. We loved the way it looked different from the traditional cribs. We especially loved the fact that it wasn't just a rail and spindle crib. The cherry finish is beautiful!
Realizing that this crib converts to a toddler bed and full size bed was a strong selling point for us. We also like that we won't have to raise/lower the side rail or risk any pinched fingers/toes when our child gets a little curious. The bed level adjusts to the right position for your child at any stage. We currently have it on the highest setting and none of us have any problems with it so far.

We ended up ordering the crib online and having it shipped to our door. We opened it up immediately and checked it out for any scratches or missing parts. It was perfect so we boxed it back up until after the nursery was painted. Our extended family decorated our nursery while we were on a babymoon trip, and then they also assembled all of our baby furniture (we got a matching changing table dresser). Somehow, they managed to make a few scratches on the crib, but I am not sure how careful they truly were during assembly. A little furniture marker hid the damage though! Plus, we know that over time our little man will do some damage of his own! But, thought I should mention that since some of the other reviews say that it does scratch easily.

We bought a fisher price mobile with a screw through rail attachment. It works great and is very secure! Our son loves to lay in his crib and jabber at his mobile. There is plenty of room for him to wiggle around and still be nowhere near the edges.

Overall, we are very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this crib to our friends. Any crib is going to get dinged and scratched over time, as it is in a child's room after all!
