Nice crib at an affordable cost for a convertible

Author's Rating: Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: Attractive easy to assemble and adjust includes tools

Cons: paints scratches easily mobiles hard to use back strain when reaching down on lowest level

The Bottom Line:
If you need to extend the life of your child's bedroom furniture by having it grow with your child, having a convertible crib is it.

This is a nice, solid sturdy crib that was relatively easy to assemble. My husband had it put together in about 30-40 minutes. It comes with the headboard, footboard, 2 side rails, toddler bed attachment (security rail), mattress spring, and the necessary hardware and tools.

The mattress has 4 heights and to lower it a level, you use the included Allen wrench to loosen the bolts (one on each corner) holding the mattress spring and lower. It took my husband 5 minutes to lower every time--very easy.

Standard crib mattresses have a nice snug fit. However because of this snug fit, you have to practically take out the mattress completely to change fitted sheets. This is okay because you need to wrap around those sheets well under to mattress anyway.

What I didn't like about the crib: attaching a mobile was very difficult because of the wide width of the horizontal slate along each of the side rails. The mobile doesn't attach securely.

I also noticed the paint scratches very easily. When first assembling the crib, we noticed some parts had minor paint transfers.

Since there are no moving parts on this crib (the rail doesn't lift), you have to really hunch over to put your baby down when the mattress is at the lowest level and this can place a tremendous strain on your back. I suffered from back pain over a year post partum and I often couldn't lower my sleeping baby into the bed because I simply couldn't reach that far down and hold all of that weight.
