Soft & Dri Pulse Active Stripe Solid Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Satin Dreams 2.6-Ounce Tubes Pack of 4
It is good practice to switch between personal hygiene products ... such as shampoos, soaps, deodorants. By mixing up the brands of deodorant I use, I avoid skin sensitivity and my body doesn't become accustomed to one type of anti-perspirant. That is how I came to buy Soft & Dri Pulse Active Stripe Invisible Solid Deodorant - Satin Dreams.
Description
This 2.6 ounce container is black with the Soft & Dri logo as well as a lot of pink writing and graphics (looks good against the black backdrop). This anti-perspirant deodorant is advertised as being "Dual Protection" from stress sweat and active sweat.
The deodorant is an invisible solid in the typical packaging. Lift the cap off and twist the dial on the bottom of the container. As the top of the deodorant is exposed, you'll see it is white with a broad pink stripe running lengthwise through its center.
My Experiences
It had been ages since I've tried the Soft & Dri brand. The combination of sharp packaging and the promise of dual protection intrigued me. Plus it was on sale! How could I resist? Well, I should have.
The deodorant is easy to use. Twist the dial to raise the deodorant in the tube. This Soft & Dri product goes on smooth. As promised, it is an invisible deodorant. It has never marked any of my clothes.
The formula also works as advertised against sweat. I don't sweat a lot anyway unless I am doing serious exercise or working in the garden when it is way too hot outside. Wearing this deodorant, I never had to worry about perspiration.
One reason this product did not work well for me is the continuous release of the Satin Dreams scent. Ugggg. This deodorant has a perfume and chemical smell with an underlying floral scent. I didn't find the smell too bad when it was in the deodorant tube. And the smell did not bother me initially when I applied the product. However, this scent was like a timed room deodorizer. It releases itself all day, gaining strength as the day progresses (and as I said, I don't perspire much and my stress level isn't that high). It reached the point where I couldn't stand the smell. And if I hated the scent, what were other people thinking! One day the Satin Dreams scent became so strong and revolting, I had to change clothes to rid myself of the stench.
The second problem I experienced was skin sensitivity to this product. After awhile, my skin began to feel irritated. This escalated into an itching frenzy. My skin did not show any redness or exhibit any signs of distress, but it felt very uncomfortable.
I had to stop wearing this Soft & Dri deodorant to protect myself. Between the smell and the itching, it just wasn't worth the sale price.

Inactive Ingredients: cyclopentasiloxane, stearyl alcohol, PPG-14 butyl ether, hydrogenated castor oil, myristyl myristate, fragrance, silica dimethyl silylate, zea mays (corn) starch, silica, red 40 lake
Purchasing
This Soft & Dri deodorant normally sells for $4.49 at my local pharmacy. Thankfully I only paid $1.99 for it on sale. If you like this product enough, it is available in a 4-pack for about $15.00.
Summary
For some people this Soft & Dri Pulse Active Stripe Invisible Solid Deodorant may work well. However, for me it was a disaster. I will not be purchasing the Soft & Dri brand again. Review written ... and this deodorant is now going in the trash. Don't you hate throwing away money?
