Pros: Easy to use and clean up is simple. The coffee awesome!
Cons: Manual function so you have to really watch what you are doing.
The Bottom Line:
I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to make incredible espresso's and caffe lattes in their home. Why? You don't have to pay Starbuck prices anymore!
I was very reluctant to purchase this machine for my husband because you can only use Nespresso's capsules. He had tried it out at a specialty shop and went nuts over it. I gave it to him for Christmas and to my surprise the coffee was better than what I get at Starbucks or Seattles Best. I love the capsules and how easy they are to use. They just pop in, you fill the tank with water and turn it on. We have become caffe lattes fanatics for sure. This machine for the price is a great value when other espresso machines much more expensive and difficult to use. I am also impressed with how quickly we got our capsules from Nespresso after ordering online. It was two days. We ordered a box of each of their 10 coffees and have enjoyed each one. It is about 45 cents a capsule, which is well worth it considering we usually spend around $10 every weekend treating ourselves to a Starbucks. I could have roughly 22 Nespresso's for $10! The only thing is you have to place an order of 50 and charge a flat shipping rate for the order so the more you order the better the price for shipping. The frothing function is one you have to practice with. At first we weren't steaming the milk long enough thus our coffee was luke warm. We bought a frother w/thermometer from Crate and Barrel ($14 and just like what Starbucks uses) and since then we have had hot steaming caffe lattes. I prefer low fat milk, which works fine, but the whole milk is best when frothing. Our friends and family have been amazed at our coffees and we have had a blast making them. The only problem is finding a place to keep all those little capsules. Nespresso does make a line of accessories to hold your capsules, which are very nice too.
