Great for making baby food, other small dishes!

Author's Rating: Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: Small, attractive, powerful enough.

Cons: No "constantly on" feature, rather noisy.

The Bottom Line:
For small tasks it works well, but if you're looking to do more than a small batch you'll need something bigger.

Author's Review
Before I got my mini-prep I had to rely solely on my blender or my (very) big Cuisinart to make baby food for my little one Josie. Unfortunately, the blender can't make a consistently chunky puree, nor can it make a super-fine puree like you find in a jar, and the Cuisinart was just too big to make a small amount of something. In short, I love this machine! It does a great job with small amounts of food, is very easy to use, and has enough power to do what you would want a small processor to do.

Appearance-wise, it's an attractive little machine (ours is white) and looks very nice on the counter (where it lives in our house, as it's used A LOT!) and doesn't take up too much space. It has a nice long cord, about 36 inches.

In terms of its use, the machine has two speeds, 'HI' and 'LO,' which is sufficient for most jobs. Unfortunately you can only use each speed to pulse the ingredients, and it doesn't have a button to leave it on. It works quickly, but is somewhat noisy, particularly compared with our larger Cuisinart. Also, it does not have a feed tube through which to add ingredients, although liquids can be added through a small slot in the lid. Additionally, it comes with a single sharp chopping blade which is sufficient to accomplish most tasks and does a nice job of chopping and pureeing.

Finally, I like my baby Cuisinart very much and would buy it again.
