The Cuisinart ice cream maker is one of the few "extra" aplliances that I use in my home. With limited space in my kitchen, I was looking for an ice cream maker that was easy to store, easy to clean, and easy enough to operate so that I would actually use it. And, of course, I was looking for something that made amazing ice cream! This ice cream maker does all of the above AND does it in 30 minutes or less. I have had zero problems with mine and use it almost weekly. The secret science behind this modern maker is that instead of rock salt and hand churning, the ice cream maker comes with two silver bowls that are frozen in your freezer before putting one of them on the motorized churner and making your ice cream. I keep these two in my freezer at all times for the spur of the moment ice cream making. Users should make sure that all ingredients are cold before adding them to the bowl and should also make sure to provide an hour or two of time to freeze the ice cream when it is done. Although only one bowl can fit on the maker at a time, you can use the other bowl after the first to make a double batch. Brilliant idea.
