Sure, it's a Cuisinart Custom Control Toaster, but $100?!?

Pros: A toaster for life; perfect in every detail
Cons: Never have figured out what some of the buttons do
Yep, and worth every penny. (Actually we got it on sale for $80, but still...)
This is the third toaster I have owned and, I assume, the last. The main feature I originally sought, and which this model has in spades, is something I call The Jaws of Toast.
I wanted a toaster that would accommodate bagels, reheated Belgian waffles, bread of course, as well as very thinly sliced pound cake (or banana bread) pieces. Most toasters I looked at could do fat or thin, but not both. This stylish white Cuisinart, which actually outclasses my otherwise low-tech kitchen, does it all by way of small metal clasps, or "jaws," which hold any-shaped item centered for perfect toasting every time.
Like any toaster these days there is a timer control for heat, though this model also adjusts for number of slices and whether they are frozen or not.
It is particularly easy to keep clean because the "buttons" are actually more like a vinyl touchpad: perfectly flat to wipe clean with a moist cloth. The rest of the unit is white plastic which has not become stained or yellowed in the several years I have had it -- unlike certain other appliances I could mention <cough-black&decker-iron-cough!>
At a regular price of just under $110 this toaster ain't cheap, but if you have the investment up front, it will easily outlast and outperform four or five $30 models. And without the hassles.
