I bought this for when I was being visited by a family with a almost 2 year old. It was not a good purchase, and in retrospect, I am very glad nothign happened, cause I do not believe the child would have been safe or protected in the event of a car accident. The child was very uncomfortable in this harness and the strap was rubbing against her making her even more irritated. She screamed throughout the whole car ride from the airport to our home. All there is securing the child is one seatbelt across a large piece of plastic, I do not feel there are enough contact points to keep the whole thing from flying around in the event of a major accident. Please keep your child's safety in mind and require them to sit in a real car seat. The safety of your child far outweighs the inconvenience of carrying your carseat on a trip.
