My three year old son went through a phase at about 2 years old where he really hated to sit in his carseat. It was a huge struggle to get him in there, he would arch his back and make himself as stiff as a board and it was almost impossible to get him safely in his seat. I saw this travel vest in a kids catalog and thought it looked so neat. No carseat to wrestle with, just a little vest that he had to wear. Well, we bought it and took it out of the box, set it up, made the straps as large as they could be and it still didnt fit him. My son was two years old and only about 28 pounds and well within their weight guidelines but it still would not fit him. I really do not think this vest would make a safe carseat alternative. WE never did get it attached to the car since we couldnt even get the straps aaaround him to buckle. Carseat safety is so important and I do not think this vest is safe enough to replace a carseat. My son did enjoy putting it on and running through the house and making believe it was a parachute, but I have to tell you that this is a very expensive parachute. Think twice before you also have a 50 dollar parachute!!!!
