A BIG Disappointment. The write performance isn't what it used to be.

Pros: Good feeling rubber case, and a comfortable well made lanyard.
Cons: The three megabyte per second write speed isn't what I bargained for.
The Bottom Line:
Pass up the teal blue Flash Voyager for the faster Flash Voyager GT in red.
I recently (October 2007) bought the Corsair Flash Voyager 1 GB flash drive hoping that the performance would be very fast. It isn't. I got write speeds of only about three megabytes per second. I was expecting write speeds of over ten megabytes per second. The problem, I believe, is that Corsair Memory has a new product line, the Corsair Flash Voyager GT. In checking the Corsair web site, the Corsair Flash Voyager GT is now their speedy model. The plain old Corsair Flash Voyager is now the "durable price/performance leader."
The Corsair is well built. The teal blue and black cover is firm spongy rubber with a snug fitting rubber cap. Yellow and white raised rubber printing give the case a good tactile quality. It does feel good in your hand.
The Corsair Flash Voyager comes with a nice lanyard. It's one of the nicest lanyards I've seen. The blue fabric webbing is wide, and has a very sturdy attachment ring with a spring loaded quick release, but a nice lanyard doesn't make up for the pedestrian write performance of the drive.
If you are looking for a fast Corsair Flash Voyager USB drive, you'll have to buy the red "GT" model.
