Pros: Far less expensive than it's Adobe counterparts.
Cons: Poorly written; seriously flawed software.
The Bottom Line:
Avoid this product until Corel fixes it.
Up until my purchase of the Version 11 Graphics Suite, I was a die-hard Corel Draw and Photo-Paint user; going all the way back to version 6 of each program.
I installed the 11 suite on an XP machine, which also has the following graphics programs loaded... Macromedia Studio MX, Adobe Photoshop 7.0, and AutoCAD LT 2004. I built the machine myself, and it's a finely tweaked screaming graphics demon; performing flawlessly until Corel 11. Furthermore, all of the above-listed programs run fine on it; all except Corel 11.
The Corel 11 suite is without a doubt the most unstable, bug-ridden, resource hogging software I've ever had the misfortune to use; let alone own. As someone who's very knowledgeable in matters of computers & graphics software, I've done everything humanly possible to get the Corel suite to work properly; but to no avail. On a machine that easily multitasks with Macromedia and AutoCAD and Adobe, I can't even get Corel to run right when nothing else on the machine is running.
At this point, I've almost given up. I really do want to stick with Corel, because Adobe products are downright obscene in matters of pricing. (I only own Photoshop because certain clients demand it.)
As it stands right now, I'm using Corel 8 on a W98 machine; it's the only way I can get things done. Corel 11 is just sitting in it's box; uninstalled from my main machine.
Those of you looking into Corel should wait until they've addressed the problems with this Graphics Suite. And if Corel doesn't address the problems, you might want to look elsewhere.
And all of this is from someone who used to be a die-hard Corel fan. : (
