Pros: nice color screen, many aftermarket add on's, sleek styling.
Cons: not enough on board memory

I would recommend it for the color screen, headphone output of sound and expandability.
About six months ago I bought my compaq 3850 pda thinking, Ok i'll get bored with it like my old palm pilot but no way jose! This baby is great and if you buy an PCMCIA (PC card)expansion pack then you can do much more.Like for instance put a 2 GIG or 5 GIG yes 5 GIG pc card in the expansion pack and you can turn it into your very own Mp3 player. Load it up with MP3's, video or what ever you want. Take that out and pop in a D-link DWL-650 or Compaq's own HNW-100 wireless network card and with a wireless router in your house, a buddy's or your job you can surf the web without wires. Ok it's not your P.C.'s size screen but it's still cool.I also use it with a PHARO'S GPS setup but to use it you should get the pc card hard drive to save all of the maps in your area.Before I forget I should tell you the GPS unit comes with a car charger so don't worry on the road about battery power. Also the expansion pack has an xtra battery on board too so your wireless adventures will be long ones too.
