Pros: You can find these computers for sale cheap.
Cons: Seem to be some serious inherent problems.
Worst laptop I have ever owned. Incredibly slow and unreliable. I have reinstalled the system 3 times to try to get to a stable system. It is running now but hardly worth the effort. Probably some serious BIOS problems which have never been totally resolved.
If you do a web search on "problems compaq 2170us" you will find enough evidence that you will really want to avoid this series.
