If my wife loved it , it must be good!!

Pros: Easy to use, clear communication, easy to recharge with optional charger
Cons: One ring tone only. Holder is flimsy and does not hold well.
The Bottom Line:
Overall loved the units and especially the recharger. Hated the holder. Would buy it again and pop buy WalMart or equivalent for an after marker holder.
Bought the pair at Costco in Canada prior to a Disney Cruise and a visit to Magic Kingdom. Came with NiCd battery and charger.
Very easy to use. My wife the technophobe mastered it in less than one hour and now wondered how we ever lived without one of these units. Very convenient ring feature as it is a little louder than spoken voice. The locking device avoid accidental channel switch and having to hold the power button for more than 2 seconds is a bonus. The auto quelching feature came in handy in the Kingdom when EVERY single channel and subchannels were busy. The power saver feature allowed the units to be still fully charged after a day use and left on. It can also be recharged in less than one hour when not completely depleted (3 hours otherwise), just pop in the charger. Voices were very clear. Worked well both on the cruise and at the Kingdom with no intrusion from others once the subchannels are set. Only on rare situations did we lose contact(from deck 3 to deck 9, and the other time while standing on either side of the Alien Encounter building...?too much metal in between us?).
On the minus side, the holder is very poorly designed. I was always afraid at first that the whole thing will come off my belt. But it was actually easier for the unit to pop out of the holder since it held only the bottom half (plastic on plastic is not a lot of friction). I need not to worry too long about those concerns because BOTH holder snapped before the week was over !!! (one by hitting my son's head, the other while taking the unit out of the holder). Putting the unit in the pocket is not a good solution either because of the location of the on/off button, the unit keeps beeping every time there is a slightest pressure on it(did not go off however...remember you have to keep the pressure on for more than 2 seconds.).
