Pros: Roomy; comfortable leather seats; XM satellite radio is awesome!; excellent handling and turning radius
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning.
The Bottom Line:
You will not regret this purchase. I feel confident in giving this recommendation to buy if you're in the market. You can save a ton of money right now.
The wife and I were debating on whether to wait on the new '07 body style or go ahead and take the price advantage in getting an '06 model. We chose the 2006 and are 100% satisfied with that decision.
For one, I don't trust the new engine design coming in the new 2007 models. Chevy tried this very same technology in the past and had nothing but problems, so they canned that idea and went back to the drawing board. They say they have it fixed now, but I'll believe it when I see it (you won't know until a couple years when your engine falls apart anyway, so it's either buy a '06, or wait for '09).
Moving on.... this is the best large SUV on the market. no gimmicks. The only smoother ride you will get is in the Cadillac, and if you have the money for that, you're not reading this review anyway.
Bought for my wife, and she loves it! We have the Z71 2WD, which is new for 2006 (usually Z71 only offered in 4WD). We only drive around town, so 4WD not that much of an issue, although the Auto 4WD would be nice to have in rainy weather. Decided to save $4k by going without the 4wd and the Navigation.
I know some people are mad at GM for not upgrading the interior. However, I think the toyota sequoia's interior is worse! I happen to like the "no thrills" interior. It's perfect for function.
I wish everyone would quit complaining about gas mileage. If you don't want to get 15mpg, then dont' buy a large SUV.
I love it, my wife loves it, and my 2 year old loves her Bucket Seat in the second row.
My parents recently purchased a Ford Expedition Limited. doesn't even compare to our Z71. They are now trying to get rid of it after 4 months.
One more thing. We upgraded to the 20" rims. Very nice looking. this option is our "cherry on top" option.
I highly recommend this vehicle to anyone in the market.
