The Bottom Line:
The bottom line is that its a good work truck and short distance drives. Not a family kind of truck.
This truck was bought with water damage but was not declared totaled so the price was reasonable and was sold to us for our price of 15,500. What a trip we just bought. For about a month or two the truck ran great. It was drove around 100 miles a day and was properly maintained. After a few months passed it died on the side of the road for no reason at all. No warnings or anything. It was hauled back to a shop where the mechanics began work. It was found that the ECU was fried. How it happened is still a mystery. It was fixed and around the same time one off the O2 sensors went out and was fixed as well. A few weeks pass and the transmission started giving fits. It took a total rebuild of the transmission the first time round then the transfer case went out. This began to look bad upon Chevy because this was the second transmission being rebuilt under the same roof. After having the truck put back together and everything checked out, it was back to work. The truck ran like a top for weeks until another unexpected shut down happened. Once again it took a piggy back ride back to the shop where the problem was unknown. The next day it cranked right up and has ran fine since. The overall truck is a good roomy truck for hauling people and trailers full of equipment. The bed has enough room for 3 toolboxes and still spare room for tools in the center. I would have to think hard before recommending this kind of truck to some one. One big downfall is the 6.0L's gas mileage. Only around 10 mpg gets really old really quick. This is why I stick this truck in a work truck only category.
