Chevrolet has a great theme that goes with all its muscle cars. One of those themes is speed, and acceleration. A car that carries this theme is the 2001 Camaro Z28. With 310 factory horsepower this car can stump a mud whole in most other cars. 0-60 is done in around 5 seconds flat and the quarter mile has been done in the upper 12 second range. To most muscle car enthusiast that is blazingly fast.

I recently had a chance to test drive a new Z28 at my local chevy dealership. It was a black one with the SS option rims. It had a 6 speed trans-mission and looked fast just sitting there. These camaro's are claimed to be the fastest ones ever built. Well anyways when the dealer brought me the keys we got in the car and went down the road. I pulled out on the main street and punched it ever so slightly. It was up to 45 before i knew it. He said to step on it some more. I did and boy i was doing 80 mph before i knew it. We drove around some more and tested all the other characteristics such as handling and the traction control option. This car was for me but the price was not. At 29,000 dollars it was a bit out of my league.

Althought i would love to have that car that i drove over a month ago I think i will just stick with my plain 87 camaro that i know so well. I do have to hand it to the 2001 camaro though as probably being one of the fastest chevys ever built.
