For 1998, the Metro is available in three trim levels - coupe, LSi coupe and LSi sedan. The Metro will be rebadged with the Chevrolet bowtie in the 1998 model year. Chevrolet will be targeting younger or first-time buyers with the Metro. All models will get redesigned front and rear fascias, new seat fabrics, composite headlamps, new wheel covers and a new exterior color, California Gold Metallic. Standard features include the OBD II diagnostics system, driver and front-passenger air bags and power front disc/rear drum brakes. The Anti-lock brake system is optional for all models. Standard for the LSi coupe and LSi sedan is a 1.3L 4-cylinder engine with a Multi-Port Fuel Injection replacing the Electronic Fuel Injection system.
